SUMMARY:BCNS – Boat Gathering – Friday 22nd – Monday 25th May 2026
DESCRIPTION:BCNS invites you to attend our Summer Gathering of Boats at Titford Pump House over the weekend of the 22nd/25th May. This year there is no charge to attend the event which will also coincide with the finish of the first Explorer Cruise (on Friday 22nd) and also the completion of the 24 hour Challenge on Sunday 25th. This will ensure a good showing of boats and provide some thirsty customers for our real ale bar.\n\nThe event will start with our Society AGM (and an EGM this year – details to follow in BP) together with a quiz after the formalities on Friday evening. This is a general knowledge style quiz and is open to all. We’re not having any entertainment this year as we have found that most boaters like to chat and drink and catch up with old friends.\n\nWe’ll have a mobile hot food wagon in the car park on the Sunday afternoon/early evening to cater for anyone\, but in particular for the weary challengers who are too tired to cook. On Sunday evening there will be a canal specific quiz for all you knowledgeable boaters. As ever\, we’ll also hold our duck race at some point over the course of the weekend.\n\nAs ever for a Society event\, it is very informal\, moorings are on a first come first served basis and everyone is welcome.\n\nDespite the informality\, insurance and CRT require all attendees to complete an Entry From which is attached to this email. SUMMARY:BCN Society / Fund Britain's Waterways Joint Icicle Cruise to Walsall
DESCRIPTION:The BCN Society have teamed up with the Funds Britain’s Waterway Campaign to jointly organise an Icicle Cruise to Walsall Town Arm over the weekend of the 20th/21st March 2026.\n\nThe cruise will follow a similar format to previous years and will allow us to belatedly celebrate the re-opening of the canal after the spill incident\, and sample the new arrangements that CRT have put in place at Walsall Basin.\n\nThere is an informal plan to descend Ryders Green Locks on Friday\, mooring overnight at Moorcroft Junction and then cruising to Walsall on the Saturday. A BCNS work party will attend to the moorings at Moorcroft in advance to ensure they are tidy and clear of the worst vegetation etc.\n\n\nI very much hope we can assemble an impressive number of boats for this event and look forward to receiving your support. \nIcicle cruise 2026 entry form \nCaggy\, Bogwoppit in Town Basin
