Anglesey Branch of the Wyrley & Essington Canal

Ogley Junction

Anglesey Basin is a quiet site, with plenty of walks around Chasewater reservoir.

You can still see the remains of the loading shutes, on your right as you approach the dam.

The top end (in the picture) was cut off with a cable in Jan 2017.  I asked Ian Lane (waterways manager) about this – he was unaware and will come back with an answer as to what is going on.

PUBS: “The Anchor” (just north of Catshill Junction) has been recommended in the past, but I don’t have any recent reports.
