A BCNS Work Party is normally scheduled for the second Saturday in a calendar month
The planned work for January is to tackle the growth at Sandwell Park Colliery Wharf Site (aka ‘Smethwick Chutes’). This was last cleared in January 2023.
To maximise use of daylight at this time of year, it is intended that the workboats will moor up on Friday at the Engine Arm moorings and be taken to the site on Saturday morning.
The Work Party organisers, Mike Rolfe and Michael Smith-Keary would welcome any new recruits.

It is suggested that attendees make their own way to the towpath opposite the site and await the workboat’s arrival to get across the Old line. The suggested best access point is from Summit Bridge on Roebuck Lane.
