I would love to know if the BCNS had any information in its archives about a proposed canal from a point near to Gorsty Hill on the Dudley no 2 line, to the Main Line at Oldbury, probably via what is now the Titford Pool Branch. The proposed canal was the Birmingham Canal Company’s response to the Dudley Canal Company’s proposal to build the no 2 line in 1792. The argued that their proposed canal would be a much shorter route into Birmingham and involve a shorter tunnel than that proposed at Lapal.
I came across this while doing some research into the Dudley no 1 line.
