BCNS invites you to attend our Summer Gathering of Boats at Titford Pump House over the weekend of the 22nd/25th May. This year there is no charge to attend the event which will also coincide with the finish of the first Explorer Cruise (on Friday 22nd) and also the completion of the 24 hour Challenge on Sunday 25th. This will ensure a good showing of boats and provide some thirsty customers for our real ale bar.
The event will start with our Society AGM (and an EGM this year – details to follow in BP) together with a quiz after the formalities on Friday evening. This is a general knowledge style quiz and is open to all. We’re not having any entertainment this year as we have found that most boaters like to chat and drink and catch up with old friends.
We’ll have a mobile hot food wagon in the car park on the Sunday afternoon/early evening to cater for anyone, but in particular for the weary challengers who are too tired to cook. On Sunday evening there will be a canal specific quiz for all you knowledgeable boaters. As ever, we’ll also hold our duck race at some point over the course of the weekend.
As ever for a Society event, it is very informal, moorings are on a first come first served basis and everyone is welcome.
