Neither the BCN society nor the compilers can be responsible for your choice of moorings.
Any decision as to where you moor must be your own.

These notes do not cover temporary stoppages or restrictions – get these from the Canal & River Trust.

Some notes.

The printer friendly version is complete, and has been available for a few years with minor modifications.  It is designed to be printed on two sides of a sheet of A4, so that you can keep use it when you don’t have access to the internet.

The online version is not yet complete.

The plan is to photograph and describe in more detail all of the sites in the list, so that you have a better idea of exactly what they offer.

It is a work in progress, as it depends on getting to every site – so we welcome assistance with photographs and views of the moorings.

Your thoughts and judgements on the sites are welcome.  (Photographs are particularly welcome – and will of course be published with acknowledgement).  Comments will be moderated – but the plan is to publish all views, negative and positive.  It is likely that I will get back to you to check detail – so please respond to a question on your comments.

Where we name pubs, it is simply because there are some that we have found that we like, and that are used by local boaters.  This does not say that there are not others that may be just as good.   Especially in Birmingham and Wolverhampton there are loads of others.  Look to the likes of the CAMRA Birmingham website for a wider choice, or the Canals and Riverside Pub Guide, which identifies pubs by canal.

Where we name supermarkets, this is simply to list those within easy walk of the canal.

If you have any comments, corrections or suggestions, please make using the contact page.

There has been a glitch in the transfer of the website – in that many photographs were not transferred, but links created, which died when the original website was closed.  We will rectify this as soon as possible.
